Resident Evil 4 in 3D with Alice Clones

It's been announced that movie Resident Evil 4 will be in 3D. Director Paul W.S. Anderson has hired the team from Jame Cameron's Avatar to use their expertise in all things 3D.

Besides Resident Evil 4 going 3D, we also have confirmation that the clones of Alice seen at the end of RE3 (well not the dead clones from the pic above, but the clones awaken at the end) will indeed play a part in the fourth opus, it has been confirmed by Actress Milla Jovovich who is reprising her role as Alice:

"Let’s just say this. The clones are definitely in it. You’ve got multiple Alice’s kicking serious butt. And definitely the real Alice has some pretty major things happen to her that change the stakes a little bit. That’s probably all I can give you in a vague sort of way. It’s definitely going to be a different Alice than who we’re used to."
Milla Jovovich

With Alice and her clone sisters it's a real army of zombie slayers that will rise in the movie Resident Evil 4!

Resident Evil 4 Movie in 2010

Paul W.S. Anderson has decided to produce a fourth installment of the Resident Evil movie series. There is already a script penned by Anderson the film is currently being cast, filming should to start fall 2009. Of course Milla Jovovich is set to reprise her signature role as zombie slayer Alice, though no formal deal has been signed yet.

The film will be titled Resident Evil Afterlife (Biohazard Afterlife in Japan). We may expect a release for the second half of 2010.
Resident Evil 4 should be more in tune with RE2 in terms of style but with better dialogue and a darker tone. There's enough hand to hand combat in the script for them to bring in a martial arts choreographer (most likely for an Alice vs Wesker fight).

The story reportedly takes place in Tokyo in Japan and in Alaska (with Toronto standing in for Alaska, filming in Canada is indeed cheaper than in the USA...). Patrick Tatopoulos will return and be in charge of the creature effects while Michael Lantieri will be the new Special FX supervisor (in terms of the practical effects).

Glad to hear about this fourth edition of the famous zombie franchise! I am quite impatient to see Resident Evil 4. But beyond gruesome scenes of zombies feasting on human bodies I hope that the plot will delve into greater detail of Alice's world, and that she'll be able to into the headquarters of the company that brought the plague.

Get ready top smash zombies with Alice (Milla Jovovich) in the movie Resident Evil 4!
