Resident Evil 4 Movie in 2010

Paul W.S. Anderson has decided to produce a fourth installment of the Resident Evil movie series. There is already a script penned by Anderson the film is currently being cast, filming should to start fall 2009. Of course Milla Jovovich is set to reprise her signature role as zombie slayer Alice, though no formal deal has been signed yet.

The film will be titled Resident Evil Afterlife (Biohazard Afterlife in Japan). We may expect a release for the second half of 2010.
Resident Evil 4 should be more in tune with RE2 in terms of style but with better dialogue and a darker tone. There's enough hand to hand combat in the script for them to bring in a martial arts choreographer (most likely for an Alice vs Wesker fight).

The story reportedly takes place in Tokyo in Japan and in Alaska (with Toronto standing in for Alaska, filming in Canada is indeed cheaper than in the USA...). Patrick Tatopoulos will return and be in charge of the creature effects while Michael Lantieri will be the new Special FX supervisor (in terms of the practical effects).

Glad to hear about this fourth edition of the famous zombie franchise! I am quite impatient to see Resident Evil 4. But beyond gruesome scenes of zombies feasting on human bodies I hope that the plot will delve into greater detail of Alice's world, and that she'll be able to into the headquarters of the company that brought the plague.

Get ready top smash zombies with Alice (Milla Jovovich) in the movie Resident Evil 4!
:)
